Kristina MacLure: Track + Field/Strength + Conditioning

My name is Kristina MacLure. I’m a certified strength and conditioning coach and the current assistant strength coach at Lander University. I’m the primary strength coach for track and field/xc, volleyball, field hockey, and acrobatics and tumbling. I also currently am a volunteer coach for the Lander track and field team.

Accomplishments:
I competed at the Division 1 level in track and field at the University of Rhode Island (2016-2021). Throughout my collegiate career, I had competed in a total of 14 different events but specialized in the hurdles (100 meter hurdles, 400 meter hurdles), short sprints (60 meter, 100 meter, 200 meter dash), and long sprints (400 meter dash). While at URI, I achieved five school records, one Atlantic-10 conference record, three individual conference championships, and was a two-time NCAA Regionals qualifier. In 2021, I was ranked 36th in the nation in the 400 meter hurdles.

Specialties:
Due to my background in track and field, a Bachelors in Kinesiology, and a Masters in Exercise and sport science, I specialize in the ability to coach sprint mechanics and speciality event techniques, strength and conditioning, speed, agility, and change of direction mechanics.

What I’d offer through the private coaching:
Through the private coaching offered at Porter Gaud, current and future athletes will have the option to learn and sharpen sprint ability and mechanics (sprint form, block start/3-point start techniques and mechanics), develop and strengthen event technique (hurdles, long jump/ triple jump), and/or develop change of direction/agility abilities.
