Week Ahead 10/21 - 10/25B WeekDaily Schedule
Can Food Drive for Hurricane Helene ends MondayAs part of our hurricane relief efforts, we are extending our food drive through Monday, October 21, and asking each Cyclone to donate 10 canned food items to support communities in need. Collection boxes will be available in all division offices at Porter-Gaud, the main offices at O’Quinn, and the Advancement Office (Suite 320) in Albemarle Pointe Center. Thank you for your generosity and support! 9th Grade Elections on FridayHonor Council (Deadline Monday) Every year until graduation, one member of the class will be selected to serve on the Honor Council. Members of the Honor Council fulfill an important purpose at Porter-Gaud; they commit to create a more honorable community and challenge us to think about how we can realize that goal. Commitments to the Honor Council are considerable, and members must be willing to stay past normal school hours to fulfill their responsibilities, often at the expense of other commitments, like athletics. To serve on the Honor Council, you must print and complete the application, turn in the application by the deadline (Oct 21st at 3:30 p.m.), and be elected by your peers (Oct 25th). Completed applications should be turned into Mr. McCabe (Rm 219) or Ms. Wade (Library). Student Council (Deadline Wednesday) The 9th grade will soon be selecting four outstanding individuals to represent their interests and voices within our school community. The mission of the Student Council is simple yet vital: to unite our diverse student body and to champion a range of student-driven initiatives. Elected members will commit to attending biweekly meetings, where they will collaborate on planning school events, brainstorming ideas, and presenting initiatives to the administration. This is your chance to make a difference and shape the future of our school. Applications will be accepted through Wednesday, October 23 at 3:30 p.m. Founders Day Concert Monday
Please join the Fine Arts Department for our annual Founder's Day Concert tomorrow, Monday 10/21, at 7 p.m. in the Wendell Center. You will find visual artwork from all three divisions as you enter the Wendell Center, and the choirs from all three divisions, as well as the Handbell Choir, will perform. The concert starts at 7 p.m., so arrive early to enjoy the student artwork and get a prime seat! Please see the Approved Snack list for appropriate items. Advisory Pop Tab CompetitionThe advisory pop tab competition is back! This school year there will be two winners--one per semester-- and the advisory that has collected the most pop tabs by December will earn their reward. These pop tabs will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House, which will then be recycled in exchange for money. This raises thousands of dollars for the RMDH each year!
